A complete overview of Ihya College in 1 short video
The college has designed a programme of study which meets the needs of Muslims today and in the future. Founded by Ustadh Muhammad Ali, he is supported by a team of professionals who share the same vision.
Our primary Vision
Every Muslim in the United Kingdom enters adulthood with the necessary knowledge to carry out their religious obligations.
The key issue that Ihya College wants to solve
1 -THE PROBLEM
Muslims are reaching maturity/adulthood, without the necessary knowledge needed to fulfil their obligations
- 2A REPEATED CYCLE
When these adults become parents, they do not have even the basic Islamic knowledge to impart to their children. This creates a reoccurring cycle of ignorance.
3 -INSUFFICENT TEACHING
Children are sent to madrassa where they learn how to read the Noble Quran, and very little more. Students leave without the necessary knowledge needed to fulfil their obligations.
- 4THE SOLUTION
Provide a comprehensive and effective Islamic Studies course, particularly designed for parents to learn alongside their children.
5 -THE VISION (next generations Scholars)
After completing their Islamic Studies, students are inspired to study further. Completing the Arabic Studies and then the Scholarship Studies courses. Attaining qualified Scholar status, ready to preserve the tradition of learning and teaching, imparting their knowledge to future generations.
Core values and Ethics
Our 4 core values
Authenticity
The information we provide to educate our learners is rooted in the Quran and Sunnah.
Integrity
We are honest to ourselves and to others. We practice what we preach.
Servant Leadership
We focus on and work hard to meet the needs of our learners.
Relatability
We convey difficult concepts in a simple manner.
Connecting unfamiliar ideas to those which are familiar
We serve the Muslim community by imparting authentic Islamic teachings with integrity, in a relatable manner.
We teach books which have been written by individuals considered to be masters in their respective fields. The works are fully referenced, which reassures learners that they are truly receiving authentic teachings.
Learners will observe that the instructors are an embodiment of the teachings they convey.
Our instructors have a deep understanding of the environment they and the learners live in, this enables them to connect unfamiliar ideas to those which are familiar, in order to create understanding.
“He who goes forth in search of knowledge is considered as struggling in the cause of Allah until he returns”
How Ihya College was Founded
Background
Ihya College was founded by Usdath Muhammad Ali in 2021.
Born and raised in Bradford, West Yorkshire I always had a keen interest in learning about Islam through reading books in English.
In 2009, at the age of 24, I began to observe a major gap in communication, understanding and relatability between Imams and the general public. The younger generation were predominantly English speaking, and on the whole the Imams still conversed in Urdu.
I felt something needed to be done, moreover I felt that I needed to do something, but I didn’t know quite what that was.
In 2011, I was blessed to perform Hajj with my family. Whilst gazing at the Holy Ka’ba, I supplicated to Allah Almighty, asking Him to use me in His way. In 2012, after consultation with my family and my wife in particular, I left my role as a manager in a leading financial services organisation in pursuit of studying Sacred Knowledge.
Study
I enrolled onto the full-time Islamic Law and Traditional Studies Course at Al-Markaz ul Islami – Bradford. I spent time learning the Islamic Sciences from various learned teachers, under the guidance of Shaykh Mufti Qazi Hassan Raza.
I started teaching and public speaking whilst in my first year of study. Over the last nine years, I have had the honour of teaching at various institutions throughout the North of England. I have also continued to pursue further studies with teachers privately.
Ihya College
Most British born Pakistanis, like myself, have been brought up with a fusion of culture and religion, leaving the majority of people being unable to differentiate between the two.
Ihya College was founded to bridge this gap of knowledge within the modern contempory enviroment whilst still keeping the sacred classical knowledge and sunnah as the heart of all learning.
Supported by a team of professionals who share the same vision, the academy has designed a programme of study which meets the needs of Muslims today and in the future.
