Full Course Information

Our Islamic Studies Course is designed to teach the basics every person, male or female, 11 years and older, must know to carry out their individual duty as a Muslim.

Hadrat Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said; “The seeking of knowledge is an obligation upon every Muslim.[Sunan Ibn Maajah – 224]

Religious duty can be divided into two kinds: Individual Duty and Communal Duty.

Every Muslim has an individual duty, so is therefore, as a minimum, required to seek sufficient knowledge to carry out that duty. It will also give students a firm foundation in the core sciences of Islamic Studies within the bounds of Ahl’ al-Sunnah.

This is a low commitment course, fees are £370 for the full 38 weeks plus the £25 student pack. Students will be given a small amount of weekly reading to complete in preparation for their classes.

There are no specific qualification or other requirements. This course is for everyone from all backgrounds. Men, women or children who past the age of maturity (11 years or older)

There is no formal assessment.

However, all learners who have a 95% + attendance will receive a Certificate of Attendance at the end of the course.

There is an optional examination that will reward a pass certificate. This is required if a student wants to pursue further studies such as Arabic studies.

Our Islamic studies course will provide a foundation to pursue further studies and specifically is a requirement to continue further studies with Ihya College.

For our September 2023 class, the full course fee is £370 + £25 for the student resources pack. We offer spread payments & options available.

A Manual on Islamic Creed and Hanafi Jurisprudence

Written by eminent 11th century Hanafi scholar, Abu ‘lIkhlas al-Shurunbulali, Ascent to Felicity is a concise yet comprehensive primer in theology and jurisprudence. It spans all five pillars of Islam, as well as the topics of slaughtering, ritual sacrifice and hunting. To supplement the text, the translator has added key explanatory notes taken from several reliable works on theology and jurisprudence. He has also added appendices that comprise of numerous supplications related to the five pillars, presented in Arabic script along with English translation, as well as the etiquette of visiting the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) in Madina.

1What is the cost of the Islamic Studies Course?
The standard course fee for the Islamic Studies Course is £370 + £25 for course materials.
2Why do you charge course fees?
Nothing is for free! Naturally, there are costs involved in providing any product or service. By charging course fees to our learners, we are able to cover some of these costs. We rely on donations from generous businesses and individuals to cover the rest.
3Why are your course fees quite reasonable?
We feel passing on the real cost of what we provide to our learners would be a barrier to learning. We have therefore set a very affordable fee, covering our remaining costs through other means.
4I cannot afford the full course fee, can I still learn?
No problem. We wish to make Sacred Knowledge accessible to you, regardless of your personal circumstances. If you are genuinely unable to afford the full course fee, don’t let this put you off, just contact us and we will do everything we can to help you.
5Will I get a certificate upon completion of the course?
All learners who have a 95% + attendance will receive a Certificate of Attendance at the end of the course.
6Are there any exams?
All learners will be offered an optional end of course exam, to test their knowledge and understanding. We appreciate not all learners will wish to sit the exam, as such there will be no requirement to do so. Those who do wish to sit the exam will receive a Certificate of Achievement, the pass mark is 70%.
7Which School of Thought/Law do you follow and teach?
We follow and teach the Hanafi School
8I have completed the Islamic Studies Course, what are my study options?
The Islamic Studies Course is designed to stand alone. This means that learners can complete the course, without the need to study further. Instead, just focus on implementing what they have learnt. The course is also a prerequisite for joining the Arabic Studies Course, this course will be offered to all learners who wish to study further.
9I have completed my Islamic Studies elsewhere, can I join the Arabic Studies Course?
If you have covered all the essentials in your studies, then yes. Please contact us about taking the next step. If you have not covered all the essentials in your studies, then you must first complete our Islamic Studies Course.
10Will there be 3rd party shaykhs teaching?
Initially we will not involve any other Shaykhs. This is so that we can strongly convey who we are, and whose organisation this is. Once we are more established, we will look to hold special seminars with prominent Scholars.
11Class community – How do we create that community feel? Mid session break?
As the session is two hours long, we will have a mid-session break.
